Post-wise Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Junior Engineer (JE): 3-year Diploma in Engineering (or combination of sub-streams) in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics & Allied Engineering from a recognized University/Institute. B.E. / B.Tech degree holders in the respective disciplines are also eligible.
- Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): 3-year Diploma in Engineering (or B.E. / B.Tech) in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
2. Age Limit (As on 01 January 2027)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 33 Years
Upper Age Relaxation:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
- SC / ST: 5 Years
- PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 Years (up to 15 years for SC/ST PwBD)
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation based on service length + 3 to 8 years
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of four stages:
- 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 1): Screening test consisting of 100 questions (90 minutes) covering Mathematics, Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
- 2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 2): Core selection test consisting of 150 questions (120 minutes) covering Technical Abilities (100 marks), General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Computer Basics, and Environment & Pollution Control.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates based on CBT 2 merit will be called for document verification.
- Medical Examination: Comprehensive medical check-up as per specified medical standards (A-3, B-1, B-2, or C-1).

- Visit the official website of your regional RRB (e.g., RRB Kolkata, RRB Mumbai, RRB Chennai, etc.).
- Click on the registration link for CEN No. 04/2026 (JE & DMS).
- Register by creating an account with a valid email ID and mobile number (note: these details cannot be changed later).
- Select your preferred RRB region, post choices, and exam trade group.
- Capture a live photograph via the application portal and upload your signature (30–49 KB). SC/ST candidates requesting a free travel pass must upload their category certificate in PDF format (under 400 KB).
